Bead Blasting & Surface Finishing

Uniform matte cleaning and smoothing.

Parts are cleaned by pressurized bead blasting, producing a uniform matte industrial surface. Tumbling and vapor smoothing are available on request for a finer finish.

SURFACE PROFILE COMPARISON

One part, four different surfaces

SURFACE CROSS-SECTIONAVERAGE ROUGHNESS · Ra 8 – 12 µm

Pressurised glass beads strip the loose powder clinging to the surface, producing a uniform matte texture. This is our standard delivery finish.

Roughness figures assume typical build conditions and vary with geometry, orientation, and material.

BEAD BLASTING PROCESS04 / 04
  1. 01

    Depowdering

The part is lifted from the build volume and the surrounding unsintered powder is cleared away.

  2. 02

    Pressurised Blasting

Glass beads are applied at controlled pressure to remove residual powder bonded to the surface and even out the texture.

  3. 03

    Internal Channel Cleaning

Closed channels and deep cavities are swept with compressed air to confirm no powder remains inside.

  4. 04

    Final Inspection

Surface uniformity and critical dimensions are checked; parts needing further finishing move to that line.

WHICH FINISH FOR WHICH NEED04 / 04

Visible Surfaces

On housings the user sees and touches, blasting followed by tumbling delivers a consistent texture.

Fluid and Sealing

For channelled parts carrying air or liquid, vapour smoothing seals the pores and lowers flow resistance.

Moving Surfaces

Where parts slide against each other, reducing roughness cuts friction and wear.

Structural Parts

Internal brackets and fixtures with no cosmetic requirement need only standard blasting, with no added finishing cost.
